Obi-Wan Kenobi is an upcoming American television miniseries created for the streaming service Disney+, featuring the Star Wars character of the same name.
The series is set ten years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, which was made in 2005.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to premiere on Disney+ on Friday, May 27, 2022, with two episodes. The other four will then be released weekly on Wednesdays from June 1 until June 22.
Ewan McGregor plays the audacious role of the legendary Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. He is a noble man and gifted in the ways of the Force. He trained Anakin Skywalker, served as a general in the Republic Army during the Clone Wars, and guided Luke Skywalker as a mentor.
The cast also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader. Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is directed by Deborah Chow and executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor and Joby Harold.
Natalie Holt was hired to compose the series’ score, making her the first woman to score a live-action Star Wars project
