The Apple Construction Site

Apple’s new UFO-shaped campus is coming on in leaps and bounds, as per a new video from drone photographer and YouTube user myithz. Myithz flew his DJI Phantom 2 Vision Plus quadrocopter over Cupertino’s Campus 2 and recorded footage showing that the front portion of the building is now cemented, while the subterranean walls have also been built along the sides.

The massive campus is set to open by mid-2016, and was one of the last major projects tackled by Steve Jobs, who hired legendary architect Norman Foster to design the site.

The campus is set to house 12,000 Apple employees on its 176 acre plot, and will sport miles of bike paths, a high-tech gym, and an underground parking garage and theater for hosting media events.

In other words, it’s the campus Apple’s been dreaming of — and it’s well on its way to completion.
